Most customers go from first estimate to installation in 5–7 days. After submitting your details, an installer will contact you as fast as possible. A site visit is typically arranged within 2–3 days, and installation follows shortly after you accept the quote.

Yes — someone needs to be present on installation day. Your engineer will walk you through what they’re doing before they start, and show you how to use the system before they leave. Most single room installs are completed between 8am and 5pm in a single day.

We’re currently operating in West Sussex and London. We’re expanding to new areas regularly — enter your postcode on our quote form and we’ll let you know if we cover your location. If we don’t yet, we’ll notify you when we do.

Your details are sent to a vetted local installer within minutes. They’ll call you as fast as possible to introduce themselves and arrange a convenient time for a site visit. You’ll also receive a summary of your estimate by email. Nothing is booked or charged without your agreement.

Every home is different. Wall construction, cable run distances, and outdoor unit placement all affect the final cost in ways we can’t know without seeing the property. We give you a realistic estimate upfront so you know what to expect — your installer then provides a fixed written quote after a short site visit. That fixed quote is what you pay. Nothing changes without your agreement.

For most standard installations, the final installer quote comes in within or below our estimate range. Installations that come in above estimate are usually due to factors specific to the property — unusually thick walls, long pipe runs, or difficult outdoor unit placement. Your installer will always flag these before quoting.

Everything needed for a complete installation: equipment supply, indoor and outdoor unit fitting, all pipework and electrical connections, system commissioning and testing, F-Gas certificate, and manufacturer warranty documentation. VAT is included in all our estimates.

A modern inverter split system typically costs 20p–40p per hour to run at current UK electricity rates (Ofgem price cap July–September 2026: 26.11p/kWh). A bedroom unit running for 8 hours overnight costs roughly £1.60–£3.20. Inverter technology means the system runs at reduced power once the target temperature is reached, keeping running costs down.

For most houses in England, no planning permission is required. A standard split system on a rear or side wall qualifies as permitted development, provided the outdoor unit is under 1.5m³ and not on a street-facing wall. However, flats, listed buildings, and conservation areas typically require planning permission or additional consent. Your installer will advise you during the site visit. When in doubt, a Lawful Development Certificate (£103) provides peace of mind.

Yes, but it’s more complex than a house installation. Flats don’t have the same permitted development rights, so planning permission is usually required for the external condenser unit. You’ll also need written consent from your freeholder or management company. We install in flats regularly — your installer will guide you through the process and advise on the best placement to minimise visual impact and noise.

Yes. Period properties often require more careful planning around pipe routing and unit placement, and listed buildings will need listed building consent before any external work. We have installers experienced with period properties across West Sussex and London — we’ll advise you on the requirements before any work begins.

Most single room installations are completed in 4–6 hours. Multi-room systems typically take one full day. Your engineer will give you a more accurate time estimate during the site visit based on your specific property.

Modern inverter systems are very quiet. Indoor units typically operate at 19–35dB — quieter than a normal conversation. Outdoor condenser units run at around 45–55dB. From May 2026, new installations must meet tighter noise standards (MCS 020: 37dB at a neighbour’s window). All our installers specify and position units to comply with current regulations.

We work with leading brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, and Samsung.. Your installer will recommend the right brand and model for your home, budget, and room size. All systems we install are A-rated for energy efficiency.

Every installer on the Temlo network must be REFCOM registered, F-Gas certified, and carry minimum £2M public liability insurance. We check verified customer reviews before onboarding and monitor them after every job. Installers who fall below our standards are removed from the network. The first three jobs with any new installer are treated as probationary.

All our installers are REFCOM registered and hold current F-Gas certification — both legal requirements for anyone working with refrigerants in the UK. Many also hold manufacturer accreditations from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, and Samsung, and carry NICEIC or equivalent electrical certification.

Every installation comes with a workmanship guarantee from your installer. If there’s a fault with the installation itself, your installer will put it right at no cost. Equipment faults are covered by the manufacturer warranty. If you have any issues with your installer’s response or conduct, contact us directly — we’ll step in and resolve it. We take accountability for every job that comes through Temlo.
